About

If you're reading this, you probably got here via Social Media, as I am in the baby steps of FINALLY executing this project. And as of now, social media is the only place where I have linked this website. So, thanks! For proactively getting here, before I have actually launched this thing.

My name is Lauren Strec, and I used to do on-camera work, as a tv and video host. In 2013, I decided to leave the media industry because it was too fake for my morals, but immediately knew that I wanted to do my own beer project on YouTube and social media. It's been over 5 years, and I have been preoccupied with life. But as social media is making it easier ad easier to reach people and put out content, it's becoming a no-brainer to just let this thing grow on its own.

About LSBeerMe

A lot of people do not know this, but one may become an "expert" in beer. Just as sommelier is to wine, CICERONE is to beer. Any time I like something, I need to do learn all about it. And I love beer. So, it goes without saying that I would like to become a Cicerone.

One of the things that is appealing about the title, is that the definition is a GUIDE. Sure, one may taste enough different types of hops, malt, and yeast to have an expert education, but we're not looking to snob anyone else with knowledge. The goal is to guide others; to help others have that lightbulb go off, as they experience all that beer has to offer.

With that said, I'd love for you to join me, in becoming a Cicerone. Whether you're just looking to learn some basic beer facts, maybe you're just as passionate as me, or maybe you are already a Cicerone and want to offer some insight. Follow me as I follow the syllabus and learn as much as I can about beer. I'll be visiting breweries local to my midwest residence (Chicago), and will also hit the road via one of my jobs (public speaker for the auto show circuit). So, in addition to beer knowledge, follow me to see different breweries and ale houses around the US (and maybe world... later on).

About Lauren (me)

I have a colorful work background, but for a long portion on my younger adult life, I had a desire to be within the media. I wanted to connect with an audience, in some sort of entertainment realm. Unfortunately, everything is all about money over people, and my epiphany coincided with an age threshold. Shortly after I had my realization, I knew I wanted to do this project. It has taken 5 years for me to actually ignite this (I've good reasons), and I'm excited that it is finally happening.

I've enjoyed a lot of delicious beers, but it wasn't until winter of 2010 that I had a beer that rocketed me into craft beer. And due to a traveling job, I've been able to feed this monster by visiting breweries and alehouses across the country.

If you'd like more history into my personal, non-beer side, I have a blog-style website at LaurenStrec.com.
